Sophocoll®

Collagen-Lipid Bio-Surfactant Complex to strengthen and moisturise skin & hair

Since launch Sophocoll® has been so well received by customers that we often get asked, 'can we use more of it'?!

This new study reveals the answer is YES!

Sophocoll® is a naturally derived bio-surfactant, known for boosting foam and moisturisation levels to create a shampoo, body wash, micellar water, and many more.

In this study, we focused on testing the ingredient as a primary surfactant rather than a secondary surfactant.

The Method

We put the ingredient through its paces at different use levels, from 5% all the way up to 30%.

Samples were stored at 40 °C, 50 °C, and 4 °C, with a set kept at room temperature (RT) for one month.

The stability testing at 40 °C, 4 °C, and RT continued for three months. Each week, we pulled the samples off stability and let them sit overnight to gently return to room temperature.

The Results

The study showed us that Sophocoll® can be used as a primary surfactant on its own up to 15%, without a change in viscosity or colour.

We are very pleased with these results, as we originally recommended the ingredient to be used at 5% as a secondary surfactant.

Try it for yourself to create soft and creamy foam to repair skin and hair.
