Spraymulse®

Sucrose Stearate, Xanthan Gum, Gellan Gum, Sodium Surfactin

Spraymulse® is a low-viscosity emulsifier system that makes it easy to create sprayable, stable emulsions with high oil loads.

At a use level of just 1 - 1.25%, Spraymulse® enables formulators to create stable, sprayable oil-in-water emulsions holding up to 50% oil—all while keeping viscosity low and texture light.

Unlike conventional emulsifiers that thicken with high oil content, Spraymulse® combines two natural emulsifiers with a shear-thinning stabilising system to deliver:

  • Stable, sprayable emulsions without nozzle clogging
  • A light, non-sticky feel that absorbs quickly
  • Matte, smooth finish without pilling or whitening
  • Simplified formulation with no need for extra stabilisers

This makes it ideal for suncare, body milks, baby care, moisturisers, spritzes, wet wipes, and more.

Questions & answers

How much oil can I emulsify with Spraymulse®?

You can emulsify up to 50% of oil with 1- 1.25% of Spraymulse®, depending on the oil phase.

Do I need to add extra stabilisers or co-emulsifiers?

No, Spraymulse® is a complete system; it already has the emulsifiers and stabilisers built in.

Do I need to heat Spraymulse®?

Yes, we recommend heating the water phase to 80°C and holding it at this temperature for 10 minutes before the addition of the oil phase.

Do I need to cool the Spraymulse® emulsion under stirring?

Yes, the Spraymulse® emulsion needs to be cooled under high-speed stirring to prevent localised gelling of the emulsion. If gelling is seen, this can be reversed by homogenising the emulsion for several minutes.
